Your role

As a systems safety engineer, you will play a vital role in the safety certification of a technical system to be approved for use. You will work closely with colleagues and project teams, where you will collectively work towards developing and maintaining Saab's portfolio of products. Among other things, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across several disciplines, such as mechanics, electronics, procurement, and production, which gives you a broad network.

Your role goes beyond just identifying risks; you will be responsible for analyzing and minimizing system risks to prevent potential accidents that could harm people, property, or the environment. These analyses encompass the entire system lifecycle, meaning you will delve into mechanical design, hardware and software functions, and understand the interaction with users and other external systems. This also means you will dive into analyses of design and construction, requirements specification, and verification documentation to achieve a safe system.

Your profile

As a person, you are detail-oriented but can also see the big picture. You are curious, and it comes naturally for you to drive your own work forward, both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues. You enjoy working systematically with processes, analyses, and documentation and have a strong interest in systems safety, technology, software, electronics, and/or mechanics. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

It is advantageous, but not a requirement, if you meet any or some of the following criteria:

• You have previous experience working with analyses, documentation, or processes
• You have completed a (higher) education, preferably in technology, mechanics, electronics, or software
• You have encountered tasks related to systems or systems safety through previous work or studies
• You have an interest in underlying system architecture and design

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
